Gwangjang Market
광장시장
Jongno, Seoul · 서울
One of Korea's oldest permanent markets, with a food aisle of stalls serving bindaetteok, mayak gimbap, raw beef and knife-cut noodles to people sitting elbow to elbow.
Why it’s worth it
Pick the stall with the most Korean customers rather than the most cameras, and order the pancake fresh off the griddle. Go at lunch or late evening; mid-afternoon is the dead hour.
