Omotesando, Tokyo · 東京
A private collection of East Asian art in a low, dark, bamboo-lined building by Kengo Kuma, with a surprisingly large mossy garden and four teahouses behind it.
Why it’s worth it
The garden is the reason. Two minutes from Omotesandō’s flagships you are on a stone path under maples with nothing audible but water.
