Sanbangsan & Yongmeori Coast

산방산 · 용머리해안

Andeok, Jeju · 제주

A 395-metre dome of viscous lava standing alone on the south-west coast, with a grotto temple partway up and, at its foot, layered sandstone cliffs cut into ledges by the sea.

Why it’s worth it

The Yongmeori coastal path is only open at low tide and in calm weather — check before you drive out. When it is open, it is the strangest ground on Jeju.
