Changgyeonggung

창경궁

Jongno, Seoul · 서울

A palace built in 1483 for the dowager queens, later reduced to a zoo under Japanese rule and restored since — its 1909 iron-and-glass botanical house survives.

Why it’s worth it

It connects to Changdeokgung by a single gate, so you can do two palaces on one walk. The greenhouse reflected in the pond at dusk is the photograph.
