Gwanghwamun Square
광화문광장
Jongno, Seoul · 서울
A broad public square between the palace gate and City Hall, holding the statues of King Sejong and Admiral Yi Sun-sin, and pointed straight at Bugaksan behind.
Why it’s worth it
This is where Seoul assembles — for celebrations, protests and everything else. Underneath Sejong’s statue there is a free museum most people walk past.
