Haedong Yonggungsa

해동용궁사

Gijang, Busan · 부산

A rare coastal Buddhist temple northeast of the city, reached down 108 steps, with halls and statues set directly on the rocks above the water.

Why it’s worth it

Most Korean temples are in the mountains — this one is in the spray. Sunrise is the reason people come, and it is worth the early bus.
